CAVA

Located in the middle of Pekalongan City (there are lots of newly developing minimalist cafes and coffee shops), this cafe is made with a different design approach. There is an existing building, preserved and made into a historical object for this new cafe. Green lines are created to separate old and new buildings and planted with flowering trees to create a different space in each season.

From this approach, the cafe is made transparent in all directions so that the view of the green line and old building objects can be seen. The glass also makes the building blend between the inner and outer spaces giving the impression of a larger space.

Secondary skins and leaves from trees in the green lane minimize direct sunlight entering the building. These create a unique shadow in the building space. A firm and masculine impression is created through the building’s selection of wood, dark color, and monochrome furniture.
